De ATTO FibreBridge 6500R/D laat uw SAS/SATA disk storageintegreren in een Fibre Channel SAN. Dit levert het voordeel vanverhoogde beschikbaarheid en schaalbaarheid en het gebruik vandirect attached storage in een shared Fibre Channel netwerk. DeFibreBridge 6500 bezit Drive Map Director, een patentpending technologie die een voorspelbare LUN mapping structuurlevert voor SAS devices die aangesloten zijn op de FibreBridge6500.

Nu Fibre Channel diskdrives uitgefaseerd worden en vervangen wordendoor SAS drives, biedt de FibreBridge 6500 de mogelijkheid omnieuwere, snellere SAS en SATA drives met hogere capaciteit tegebruiken in een bestaande 2, 4 of 8Gb Fibre Channel SAN. Door deFibre componenten te elimineren in een drive chassis, wordt deenergieconsumptie verlaagd en ook de kosten voor Fibre componentenzoals SFPs en de hoeveelheid aan Fibre switch poorten nemendrastisch af.

De FibreBridge maakt het mogelijk om storage infrastructuren temanagen met kenmerken die niet aanwezig zijn in direct connecttechnologien. Advanced read ahead en write cache algorithmes in deFibreBridge bieden gebruikers de hoogste prestatieniveaus. Robuusteerror processing stelt de FibreBridge in staat om disk encommunicatie fouten te managen tussen targets en initiators.
